The islands that are part of the Arcipelagno are Basse-terre, great-terre, La Désirade, Les Saintes (Terre de Haut and Terre de Bas), Marie-Galante. The main town of the archipelago is the lively and central Pointe-à-Pitre, center of the Caribbean Creole culture.
